Medochemie and children paint for the environment
A painting competition for the children was organized by Medochemie, entitled ‘A painted message for the environment’s protection.’ The competition’s aim was to encourage children to deal with artistic practices and to express their concerns regarding the environment through art.
“Art is a place for children to learn to trust their ideas, themselves and to explore what is possible.”
The impressive works of more than 600 children were appraised by a five-member committee, of whom the decision was extremely difficult and was based on five criteria: the subject, the message, the balance, and the technic that was used.
Dr. Christakis Sergides, Innovation and CSR director of Medochemie, has awarded thirteen of the students and congratulated all of the participators. Dr. Sergides has stated among others that the company, for once more, has shown sensitivity to social and environmental aspects and that the competition aimed to the creation of an ecological culture for the young generation.
Global warming and the greenhouse effect, as well as the long and extensive heatwaves of the last decades, send a strong message on climate change, emerging us to immediately act in order to protect our planet, which is our only home. In this gigantic effort, children can and must struggle to reverse the situation.
